# Personal Account Setup

> Advanced guide for connecting a personal Discord or Telegram account for maximum access.

This method is for power users who need to access private, invite-only groups using a dedicated "alpha burner" account.

  **This is an advanced feature.** Before proceeding, please review the risks and recommendations in the [Choosing Your Connection Method](/shuriken-terminal/connection-methods) guide. We strongly advise using a dedicated "burner" account that does not contain sensitive personal information.

  **Discord BYO is not currently enabled.**\
  At this time, you can only connect a personal **Telegram** account using this method. BYO for Discord is not enabled.

### How It Works

By providing an authorization token for a personal Telegram account, you allow the Shuriken Platform to process messages on your behalf.

  The system will ingest messages from <strong>all</strong> servers and chats that the connected account is a member of.
